Athletics & Golf Courses

The San Francisco Bay Area has some of the finest and most challenging private and public golf courses one can find. Nine courses are conveniently located within City limits and over 50 others are located within a couple of hours drive. Both public and private courses within the City have hosted recent PGA events—including the US Open in 1998 at the Olympic Club and the 2005 World Golf Championships in Harding Park.

Upcoming PGA events at Harding Park, per proposal agreement with San Francisco, include the 2009 Presidents Cup, the 2010 and 2011 Charles Schwab Cup and the 2013 BMW Championship.

Along with being a popular cruise and regatta site, it is also the host club for BMW Oracle and is the only US Challenger of Record for the 2007 America's Cup.
