San Francisco hosts the governments of both the City and County of San Francisco. It is also home to the regional headquarters of many federal institutions, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and one of four facilities of the United States Mint. The City's philanthropic and community organizations, with over $38 billion in assets, are national leaders in private giving.
