San Francisco Mayor Taps New Director for ChinaSF
San Francisco’s mayor on Monday named a new director for ChinaSF, the public-private agency set up to promote investment between the city and China.
Mayor Ed Lee said Darlene Chiu Bryant is the new director, replacing Ginny Fang, who left the post last October to head up the new San Francisco Bay Area Regional Center, a pay-to-play program that gives foreign nationals immigration benefits for investing in the United States.
Bryant was most recently vice president and public affairs manager at East West Bank after leaving Pacific Gas and Electric Co, where she was a public relations manager. Bryant also was a chief deputy communications manager under then-Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Established in 2008, ChinaSF is a collaboration between the San Francisco Center for Economic Development, the City of San Francisco and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
