More Clean Energy Jobs Are Goal of New Pact

Gov. Jerry Brown and U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar will be in Elk Grove on Friday to unveil a new agreement to boost clean energy jobs.

The Obama administration and the state plan to establish new renewable energy goals for California under this new deal.

The announcement will be made at the site of solar farms currently operated by Recurrent Energy of San Francisco. Recurrent, which is in the process of selling those farms to Google Inc., is building four solar farms in the Sacramento area.

Recurrent's solar farms are expected to generate enough electricity to light 12,000 homes.
