Unemployment edged up from 9.3 to 9.4 percent in the San Francisco metropolitan area, reflecting a rise in each of the three counties that comprise it: San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin, though Marin (where the figure rose from 8.3 to 8.6 percent) had the lowest county jobless rate in the state
