SF State graduates first stem cell students
San Francisco State University graduated the first three students in its stem cell training master’s program Saturday.
The graduates — Marisa Leal, Nicole Slusher and Ashley Sanders — were part of a group of 20 that launched the program last fall.
Leal, Slusher and Sanders had already completed a year in the cell and molecular biology master’s program at S.F. State when the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the state’s stem cell research funding agency, awarded a $1.7 million, three-year grant for the program.
