Mission Bay selected as an Innovation Hub
Mayor Gavin Newsom and the San Francisco Center for Economic Development (SFCED) announced that Mission Bay has won designation as an official California Innovation Hub by the State Business Transportation and Housing Agency. San Francisco joins just five other cities and regions in the State as inaugural members of the Innovation Hub program. The greater Mission Bay "iHUB" is the only Innovation Hub in the State focused on biotech and follows a competitive application process that included applications from 24 cities and regions from across the state.
The Mission Bay Biotech iHUB will serve as a public-private platform to support business creation, recruitment and strategic initiatives. The Mission Bay iHUB will be housed at the San Francisco Center for Economic Development and include a staff member focused on supporting the growth and success of the biotech industry in Mission Bay and San Francisco.
