High speed rail picks Transbay

The California High-Speed Rail Authority board officially chose the Transbay Terminal on Thursday as the northern terminus for the bullet train that is expected to speed from Los Angeles in 2 1/2 hours.

Placing the terminus at the Transbay Transit Center and Tower is an important piece of the city's vision to redevelop the area around the terminal with highrise condos, offices and hotels.
