San Francisco ranks third in the nation for the largest number of efficient buildings according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Los Angeles and Washington DC beat out San Francisco for the top spots on the EPA’s list of the top 25 cities with the most buildings that meet its Energy Star rating system

Los Angeles has been number one for both years the EPA has ranked cities. Besides L.A. and San Francisco, the only other California cities in the top 25 are Sacramento and San Diego, which ranked 16th and 17th respectively.
