US jobless rate reaches 9.5 in June
In June, unemployment rate in the US hit 9.5 percent, the highest number in nearly 26 years. There were more than 460,000 lost jobs. Average hourly earnings stayed felt at $18.53 but the average weekly hours fell to 33.0, 0.1 hours less. According to the US Labor Department employers contracted 467,000 non-farm jobs. The largest jobs lost were noted in manufacturing, construction, retail, and business service industries.
