Unemployment reaches 7.6

 Unemployment reaches 7.6%

January's payroll job losses were the steepest one-month decline since the end of 1974 when the nation was battling another deep recession. Since December 2007 the US has lost a total of 3.6 million jobs, almost 600,000 for last month alone. National unemployment rate has skyrocketed to 7.6 percent, its highest level in more than 16 years. Almost all industries have cut jobs in January. The only industries that have increased employment have been healthcare and private education.
