Solar company from Spain opens in SF
Fotowatio- a solar power company from Spain has established its North American headquarters in San Francisco. The company develops large solar installations in Europe and additionally has already developed solar power projects in the U.S. Fotowatio that operates in the U.S. under Fotowatio Renewable Ventures is being able to generate 130 megawatts of electricity.
San Francisco City offers a temporary exemption from the city's payroll tax to biotech and green-tech companies. These good tax incentives enable new companies to be more competitive according to Jose Benjumea, President of Fotowatio.
Undoubtedly, the city has a good offer to many companies from other states and countries where green tech jobs are expanding. As San Francisco Major Gavin Newsom said "It's an area when our economy is growing, not contracting. We really, arguably, becoming a world leader - not just a regional leader - in green tech."
