Roche to take over Genentech for $47 billion
Roche to take over Genentech for $47 billion
Roche buys remaining 44 percent of Genentech's shares, making Roche the 7th largest pharmaceutical company in the US. The deal was made after Roche increased its initial offer of $41 billion to $46.8billion. The agreement ends Roche's hostile bid for Genentech. Roche will move its Pharma commercial operations from Nutley, N.J. to Genentech's site in South San Francisco which will become the headquarters for combined company's U.S. commercial operations in pharmaceuticals and operate under the Genentech name.
