Plans of redevelopment Treasure Island
After returning ownership of Treasure Island by Navy to the City, developers are planning to rebuild the island within eight years or more.
The island was built in 1936 and 1937 as an extension to the other island called Yerba Buena. But when the World Word II came the island went into the US Navy possession and it lost its destination. Thirteen years ago the Navy left the island still holding the ownership where now are businesses, government offices, and renters. The Navy though soon is planning to give back the ownership to the city. Details of rebuilding Treasure Island are presented below:
