SF's Jobs Now program expands

SF's Jobs Now program employs 1,200

A San Francisco job-stimulus program that employs 1,200 people is expecting to grow.  The city is planning to use nearly $25 million in federal stimulus money to fulfill its goal of placing 2,500 participants in jobs by September 2010.

The program called Jobs Now hires San Francisco residents who have a child under 18 years old.  An employer must pay all require taxes, such as payroll taxes, and pay the cost of any benefits that employee receives.
