Cleantech investment jumps in Q2

In the second quarter, US venture capital investment in cleantech technology rose to $572 million, 73 percent up from the first quarter. According to a report prepared by Ernst & Young LLP based on Dow Jones VentureSource, in the second quarter there were 48 rounds, 50 percent more than in the first quarter.

Solar deals were the largest VC investment among all of the cleantech categories and brought in three times as much as in the first quarter accounting for the total amount of $148 million.

According to Joseph Muscat from Ernst & Young cleantech businesses won't be affected by the recession.
