CCSF bears away $5M grant to expand its BioLink
A $5 million National Science Foundation (NSF) grant was pulled off by the City College of San Francisco (CCSF). The grant is to expand the CCSF BioLink center's services to connect students, faculty, and industry via a national network.
CCSF built the BioLink (the Advances Technological Education Center for Biotechnology) 11 years ago to train technical workers and now in order to spread out information about biotech, particularly career in biotech, wants to expand its BioLink center on social networks and blogs and be able to exchange online materials between educational institutions nationwide.
The NSF grant is for two years but can be expanded to additional two years depending on success. The fiscal agent for the grant is CCSF and the University of California, San Francisco donates office space.
