California eighth among world economies

According to the Center for the Continuing Study of the California Economy in Palo Alto, California has the eighth-largest economy worldwide. Figures come from the World Bank and US government that the Center uses to measure production of each economic region including gross domestic product.

In addition, the Bay Area that includes nine counties would rank twenty second with its GDP of $487 billion if it were a separate nation.
