Sequoia Capital
Tishman Speyer tags Sequoia Capital for 555 Mission
Sequoia Capital, a Menlo-Park based venture capital firm that invests in tech leaders such as Apple, Yahoo, Cisco Systems, Oracle, and Google, has agreed to lease the top floor of the Tishman Speyer Building located at 555 Mission Street. According to brokers familiar with the deal, Sequoia chose this location because it is an environmentally friendly building that is being submitted for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Sequoia will be joining a growing number of Menlo-Park venture capital firms that have established branches or headquarters in San Francisco. SFCED's Dennis Conaghan views this migration as "...a reflection of the strength of the startups and entrepreneurs we're attracting in biotech, in digital media, in social networking, in cleantech. People with money want to be close to the opportunities".
